In 1984, a Grand Canyon river guide discovered a gap in the footwear market and set out to fill it. Unhappy with the lack of sandals available for water sports, and the difficulties encountered while waiting for shoes and sandals to dry out, a simple idea became a revolutionary design. This design, turning a regular sandal into an amphibious sports shoe, led to the creation of Teva. Today, over 25 years on, Teva shoes and sandals continue to encourage adventures.
