Reef sandals are a brand of casual sandals. They are among the top action lifestyle brands in the world. Surfing brothers, Fernando and Santiago Aguerre, natives of Argentina, created their brand in the 1980s to support their personal active lifestyle. The dream began when the brothers lives began to become a part of the surf scene. They showed leadership early on in promoting surfing by hosting competitions and radio shows. Their immersion into surfing led them to open their own surf shop in Argentina in the 1970s.
Though the growth of Reef seems to have accomplished the American dream, it still stays true to its surfing roots hosting one of the world's most famous surf competitions Reef @ Todos Big Wave World Surf Championship. Co-founder Fernando Aguerre is currently president over the International Surfing Association and is working towards Olympic participation.
